Going into Championship Sunday, all
eyes were on three drivers: Jason
Kirby, Danny Mattera, and Charlie
Yingling. These three drivers were
locked in a three-way battle for the
Rick’s Jewelers Ring for the Queen.
Then a new player rose to the
occasion early in the day. Rickey
Nelson was able to tie the three
drivers with his third diamond
point. Danny Mattera gave himself an
opportunity to win as he took the
lead with a fourth diamond point.
Nelson took another huge swing and
was able to tie Mattera later in the
day. It ended up coming down to a
tie breaker to decide who would be
lucky enough to win one of the most
prestigious contingency awards in
all of motorsports! In a way that
few would have predicted, Rickey
Nelson would be declared your Rick’s
Jewelers Ring for the Queen winner!
Congratulations to Rickey Nelson for winning this
year’s Rick’s Jewelers Ring for the
Queen! Rick’s Jewelers, located at
