MECHANICSVILLE, MARYLAND (August 12th, 2019) – The Speed Unlimited ET Series brings some of the best bracket racers in the DMV to Maryland International Raceway ™ (MDIR). The next two weekends will showcase the talent of racers in the area and reward them greatly. Between this weekend’s Speed Unlimited ET Series Summer Blowout and next weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by ATI valuable champions points and large winner’s purses will be on the line. Top ET will be racing for $20,000 in winner’s purse, Mod ET will be racing for $9,000 in winner’s purse, and $2,000 in winner’s purse for Junior Dragster. This is what could possibly be won if a racer was lucky enough to win each day over the next two weekends. The best part, with the Summit Racing Equipment IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by ATI, all IHRA and NHRA credentials are being accepted! Meaning if you have credentials with one sanctioning body or the other, then you are eligible to race!

$5,000 to win each Saturday and Sunday the next two weekends is certainly a number that will draw attention to Top ET racers. $10,000 to possibly win in a weekend is one that will bring tough competition to a race track. Plus, there could be a big shake up in the points standings over the next two weekends as we will have four ET series points’ events. Jason Kirby currently sits on top of the leaderboard having a consistent season, but the top 10 of Anthony Whelan, Will Kivett, David Meador, Ray Snoots, Will Hess Sr, Michael Cockrell, Michael Boswell, Mickey Nelson and Tommy Norton are all 70 points or less behind him. How much of a change can we see after the end of next weekend?

Top ET is not the only class with a sizeable payout, Mod ET has $9,000 to win over the next two weekends. This weekend’s Summer Blowout brings $2,000 to win each day Saturday and Sunday. At the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular, Mod ET Racers will have a chance at $2,500 per day on Saturday and Sunday! Tony Mattera currently sits with a comfortable 50 point lead over Bobby Mattera and George Windsor, but racers hope to improve their position behind them. Keith Burch, Jeff Gardiner, Stephen Cross Jr., David Milstead, Louie Estevez, Don Baugher, and Jake Milstead are all hoping to gain on the two time defending Mod ET Champion Tony Mattera over the next two weekends. But, Mattera could continue his level of consistency from the last few years and almost put everyone else out of contention. Also, could we see the first motorcycle winner come out of the Mod ET? Many bike riders have been able to get to the semifinals, but we still await our first motorcycle winner.

There is $500 to win for the Hubble Motorsports Junior Dragsters per day over the next two weekend that can turn into $2,000 dollars if a racer was able to win all four days. Tori Tayman sits with a 31 point lead over Zach Parlett. Jessica Tayman, Hannah Franck, defending champion Jordan Denny, Alex Nelson, AJ Jenkins, Kaiden Groves, Hunter Groat and Jenna Cockrell are all looking to close the point’s gap over the next two races.

$31,000 to be given out to the winners of the next few races. Add Runner Up, Semifinals and other round winnings, and there is certainly a lot of money up for grabs. There are also vital championship points to be earned or possibly lost over the next two weekends. Who will be left standing? How much of a shakeup will we see in the points standings? It will certainly be an interesting next few weekends for every racer.
